## What it is

Strudel is a browser live-coding environment for music, a JavaScript port of TidalCycles. It loads sample banks from GitHub: classic drum machines, the Dirt-Samples set, the CC0 VCSL orchestral library, the Salamander grand piano and several others.

## Best for

Drum machine hits (TR-808, TR-909, LinnDrum and dozens more) and sounds you want to play in Strudel straight away.

## Licence

It varies by bank. VCSL is CC0 and the Salamander piano is CC BY. The drum machine and Dirt-Samples banks state no licence, and many drum machine sounds are copies of the machines' own memory chips, so Sound Server marks them unclear.
